Up for sale is a 1978 Honda Accord Hatchback, 64868 actual miles, 5 Speed manual transmission and power brake.
It is Red with a black interior. This little Honda is nice as you could expect to find, I have not found any rust out in this little car other than the place in the right rear fender at the bottom. the bottom side, floors and etc still
has body color showing, the former owner mounted BMW aluminum wheels that look terrible on it. No I don't have the original wheels Car has a new battery, Carburetor and fuel pump Engine run and sound great however has a small exhaust leak and the oil light stay on.
The brakes are very weak , from what I see somebody has replaced the calipers and pads because in the floor was the boxes with the old parts, might just need bleeding. This was a estate owned vehicle, I bought to tidy up, but right after I bought it, 10 days later the car I had tried to buy came on the market again, which I now own. No not a Honda. Honda, The car had been repainted sometime ago and was dull, I compound it and wax it and it now really looks good, Has a few little dents and scratches, nothing serious, the interior is nice with the exception of the driver seat, it's worn as you would expect.
Missing fender trim around grille, the missing piece for the right side is in car to be attached I have a copy of the seller's title dated 2002 showing the mileage 32KI have tried to descript it like I see it. Fresh out of my man cave storage of 35 yrs.
Time to sell as I am reaching 70yrs of age and for someone else to enjoy as I did. Here is what has been done to bike. New tires, tubes, brakes (front & rear), rims were blasted and painted, new aftermarket front and rear fenders, new battery, new drive chain and newer rear drive sprocket. Seat cover
is brand new. Carburetor has been totally rebuilt. Brand new muffler pipe heat shields and new graphite exhaust doughnut. Top end of engine was just redone. Stock bore was lightly honed. Pistons fitted with new rings, Valves were freshened up, reseated, lapped in and installed new exhaust valve seal.
Valves are adjusted perfect. Timing is dead nuts. Also replaced was the throttle cable stop, hinge and grip tube. Also, I installed a spring and a little plug inside handlebar of throttle grip which brings back the throttle with a nice snap. Brand new high and low beam headlight switch and new headlight bulb. This was not a total restoration. Frame Vin 232131, Engine Vin 222183 Bike starts
with one kick, idles beautifully, stops on a dime and lights work. Bike was painted by previous owner 35+ yrs ago. Paint in nice shape with some patina. Mainly runs and a stain on tank (pics show).
Not a showroom bike but a very nice mini trail for the price. This listing may end early for that it is being sold locally on Milwaukee Craigslist.
