1988 BMW M5 with S54 engine.

Classic M5 that has been restored to nice daily driver. The car has been driven about 10k miles since the completion of the build and is solid as a rock. Has been on the drag strip and road course with no issues. Car runs 13's in the qtr mile with a naturally aspirated straight 6, simply WOW. Originally a Canadian

M5, which was imported into the States, of which only 101 were made to Canadian specs according to the M5 Registry. This M5 comes with a glass sunroof, Mtech body kit and black on black interior. Recent work include the installation of a new throwout bearing (was noisy) and new transmission output shaft and shifter seals (both had a very slight leak).

The engine had about 17k miles on it when it was purchased and installed in the car, bringing the total miles on the motor to just around 30k. The car comes with ice cold AC to make long summer drives a pleasure. Many hours have gone into the car and from a rating standpoint, the exterior is 9.5/10, the engine bay is 9.5/10, and the interior is 10/10.

I have ridden this bike for a while and it starts great, pulls strong and shifts smoothly. I purchased this bike from an older BMW vintage BMW collector. He had 5 vintage BMW’s and this one was his favorite. He said of all his bikes, this one was the best. I

feel like all vintage BMW’s are great, but every now and then you find one that ’s just better than the rest. I feel like this is one of those bikes. The R69S is a true collector ’s bike; this model consistently is increasing in value. Great investment that you can ride and enjoy!

I have attached a pic of the paperwork for some of the new parts that have been installed on this bike. Other items that are new and installed. New headlight reflector. New air filter. Two new hand grips. New headlight lens. New rebuild on the Karcoma fuel shut off switch. New fuel lines with two new in line filters. New speedometer. Two new fuel tank knee pads. It is very structurally

sound and has an original undercarriage but there is a couple of paint flaws and bubbling on the bottom corner of the driver side front fender (pictured). Other than that it has always been a reliable driver for me, starting on the first crank and never smoking.

It was my intent to keep her as a daily driver and do slow restorative work to her but I have recently received a new job and no longer have the garage space needed. If you have been looking for a good “driver ” quality example I strongly encourage close attention to this example. The engine has always been reliable and my mechanic just performed a compression test which showed an average of 150 PSI per cylinder while cold.

The A/C blows but not cold, I have never had the sunroof open it is jammed and I’ve never attempted to repair it as it didn ’t make a difference to me. Someone told me it might be a broken cable.

Also the passenger window does not go up and down all the way and the odometer has never worked in my ownership. I have performed a good of service and cosmetic work including: Complete new carpet set, new rubbers seals, all fluids and plugs, as well as new shifter bushings. It has factory correct Recaro sport seats, Alpina Steering wheels, and bumper mounted driving lights. Overall I can say that this is a great driver example with a nice patina that could be used as-is or would make a great base to take to the next level for anyone.
